How Triggers Work

Note: Now that Workflows are live in all accounts, you can do everything that Triggers and Campaigns do (and more!), all in one builder!

Triggers are conditional statements (similar to Zaps in Zapier) that connect all the different modules of Caffeine together
Think of triggers as the wiring or 'secret sauce' in the back-end making all the cool things Caffeine does actually happen
Example 1:
A lead clicks on your Facebook Ad that takes them to your funnel page. The lead fills out a form giving their name, email and phone number in exchange for your lead magnet. Your Caffeine Trigger are what fire in the back end of your account to automate your cycle. So for our new lead filling out a form we would recommend the following:
- Set a Trigger to enter the new lead in a Opportunity Pipeline “New Lead.”
- Set a Trigger that pushes the new lead into the proper workflow/campaign to deliver your lead magnet via email
- Set a Trigger that pushes your lead into a workflow that helps move the lead into the next step of your sales cycle (i.e. book an appointment).
Example 2: A contact books an appointment. You should set a Trigger to:
- Put the lead into a workflow that fires off SMS reminders about their upcoming appointment to increase your show rate.
- Create a Trigger that sends the Assigned Rep a notification they have a “New Appointment.”
How would we do this?
Step 1: Navigate to Triggers → Add Trigger → Name your Trigger → Add Filters → Save → Activate. See GIF
